Parts
Nothing here is ranked and nothing is scored. Each group is laid out on one line, using the single figure every listing in it publishes in the same units. Where no such figure exists, the line is left undrawn rather than filled in with something plausible.
Groups with a line
Power Strips
Lined up on absorbed energy in joules. The strips whose listings never mention it stay off the line and are called strips.
Stated absorbed energy · 5 of 10 on the line
TV Mounts
Lined up on the load each listing states. One of them claims its figure without reaching a stud, and is marked apart from the rest.
Stated load limit · 10 of 10 on the line
HDMI Cables
Lined up on length, the only figure they all give in the same units. Speed and jacket rating are read on the cards below it.
Stated length · 9 of 10 on the line
Soundbars
Lined up on channel configuration, where a listing names one. Cabinet width, the figure that decides whether it fits, is absent everywhere.
Stated channel configuration · 4 of 5 on the line
Groups without one
In these two groups, no figure appears in every listing, so there is nothing honest to line them up against. Each page sets out what the listings state beside what they leave out, and stops there.
Projectors
No line at all: brightness and throw ratio are missing from every listing, so the page sets out what each one does say instead.
Stated and not stated · 4 listings
Room Speakers
No line at all: no output figure and no dimensions. What is left is where each one stands and what its listing says it does.
Stated and not stated · 6 listings
Reading a card
Everything under the heading The listing states is transcribed from the product listing. Nothing has been added, nothing has been rounded up, and where a listing is silent about something, this site is silent about it too. A missing figure is reported as missing rather than filled in from a similar product.
A badge on a card names one fact that is true of that product and of no other product in its group. It is not a score, a placement, or a recommendation, and the sentence beneath it says which fact it came from.
